Need
Like many companies, Hubble were hugely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. With a business model matching clients to long-term office space, they needed to pivot fast.
Following the launch of their On-Demand subscription product, Hubble needed to expand functionality to meet the needs of their quickly-growing customer base. Enter Measured, with an initial scope to deliver tightly-defined aspects of the project.
Action
Beginning with one developer for a week at a time, our involvement expanded into 4 developers for up to 40 days per programme of work. Pivotal contributions included:
- Building Slack and calendar integrations on top of web functionality allowing colleagues to see where and when others are working, and to join them in person at short notice
- Retiring legacy code, greatly reducing technical debt, by migrating Hubble’s Inbox application from AngularJS to React, and its Messaging service from Node to Django
- Integrating day office and meeting room booking capabilities
- Integrating Stripe to support subscription services, one-off payments, and the ability for large organizations to manage individual member expenditure
Outcome
Measured were an essential partner throughout the launch of Hubble On-Demand, which successfully positioned the client as a leader in flexible, on-demand office space.
